Kids Workshop with Little Artshram: Sharing Permaculture Principles the Art-Farm Way
Applying the principles of permaculture in class room curriculum and projects, reinforces values of resourcefulness, stewardship and sustainability and can be loads of FUN. What we love is the Earth our home, and we find Permaculture methodology--which seeks through observation and mimicking of patterns and relationships in nature to be a wonderful vehicle for deepening our commitment to care-taking.
Working from the 12 Beehive Permaculture Principles that were created for our Summer Art-Farm Camp and inspired by our work in the Community Gardens near the Historic Barns of the old State Hospital grounds, you are invited to participate in a hands-on creative project: working in design teams, writing a simple script which includes at least three of the principles, creating puppets/masks out of garbage art materials and natural found objects, and perform a 2-minute puppet playlet. |
